Have you ever seen the image of a client laying on the couch while the therapist asks in a quiet and serious tone: tell me how that makes you feel...I can assure you that is not me! Although we will dive into your feelings and emotions, I do not fit the caricature of a therapist. I am in the business of assisting to heal relationships - with yourself or loved ones - from the inside out. Together we will lay out the "puzzle pieces" of your life and look at the entire picture together. One by one, I will help you put the entire puzzle together.

The way you feel is a direct result of how you think, what you believe, and your life philosophy. Would you like to change how you think so that you can handle adversity better, be kinder to yourself, and have more of a choice in how you feel? These are just some of the things that I can help you achieve. I practice a type of therapy called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and I help my clients understand the root cause of their emotional problems and implement practical ways to permanently change their patterns of thinking and relating to themselves, other people, and the world around them. My way of being a therapist is based in empathy yet also highly practical. If you work with me you will be challenged: to think differently, yes. But to also put the tools I give you into regular practice. The way you think has gotten you here and I am determined to help you change it so you can get yourself to a better place emotionally. If you would like to learn more about REBT visit Albertellis.org. To schedule an initial consultation, please call or email me or visit my website.

TRS Neurofeedback & Counseling

Counselor/Therapist, Ph.D., LPC, BCN, QEEG-D
I have been practicing Counseling and Neurofeedback for 20 years. I have found that talk therapy often takes a very long time because your brain and nervous system are not able to fully engage in the therapy and you feel like a failure at yet one more thing. My biggest area of expertise is Neurofeeback for anxiety, depression, sleep issues, ADD, memory problems and PTSD. It is typically less expensive than traditional talk therapy and works much faster saving valuable time and money. After Neurofeedback training, additional talk therapy is often not needed. We are also able to help many clients wean off of medications in the process of healing and restoring the brain. We don't create perfectly well behaved children or adults without problems, but our clients say that they are able to face life's challenges with better emotional regulation. My passion is to help each individual find what is blocking their potential and move forward to be everything they can be. I have found that looking at brainwave patterns that may cause dysregulation and then developing treatment plans to train the brain to permanently shift these patterns is the key for many to thriving in mental and emotional health.

Do you constantly feel like you're never good enough? Do you feel like you compare yourself to other people and think they're so much better looking or smarter than you? Do you feel like you have to wear a mask and pretend you're someone you're not just to get people to like you, not leave you, or reject you? If you said 'yes' to any or all of these questions, you've come to the right place. These are common signs of perfectionism and people-pleasing, my specialty! If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and put in the work to find and use your voice to share your opinions and needs, feel safe being vulnerable to deepen your emotional connections, and learn how to compassionately hold yourself accountable when you make a mistake, this CAN be your reality with the scientifically based tools you'll learn working with me as your guide. To learn more about working together, reach out by sending me a message through my profile on here. I'm excited to hear from you!
