I am a licensed clinical psychologist who believes in the resilience of the human spirit. Living in society can seem chaotic, yet we yearn for love and harmony. Therapy can offer a means of releasing energy permitting possibilities for contentment.
I believe it is the therapeutic relationship itself that is most important in creating the conditions for the deep exploratory work of psychotherapy, and discovering the possibility of self transformation.
I subscribe to the ethical principles of my professional organizations, believe in the importance of condifentiality, and respect the lifestyles each of you has chosen. I believe in the inherent wisdom of clients in the healing process. I believe in the importance of compassion and support.
I will help you experience growth in a safe, confidential environment and break away from old family dynamics, learning the skills necessary to maintain growth and understand one another while becoming more in touch with your true self.
It is my professional goal to help you navigate through the difficult challenges & choices that you face. By exploring your thoughts, feelings, behaviors & life experiences, we can safely address your concerns, increase self-awareness & facilitate the changes that you desire & deserve.
I believe the best counseling begins with you feeling understood and ends when you feel liberated. It also acknowledges the paradox of change - we want to change, but we also want to stay the same. If we accept this ambivalence as natural we come to trust our core self and so are freed to move on.
I enjoy assisting clients with understanding more about themselves and learning ways to increase their quality of life, and that of their children and family. I strive to treat clients with respect, and to work in a collaborative manner with them in order that they may reach their personal goals.
Relationships naturally have times where things feel that they're just not working. Choosing counseling to gain understanding and new skills can be helpful. The number one issue for couples is communication. I teach couples how to have better, more effective communication.
Have you been experiencing excessive sadness or worry? Are you feeling stuck in an area of your life or find yourself repeating negative patterns? Perhaps you sense your life could have more meaning. There is hope! I invite you to call me and see how therapy can help.
Choosing a counselor based on brief descriptions can be challenging. I'm happy to meet with you for a free 20 minute consult. See what it feels like to sit across from me and sound me out. You can share some of your concerns, and your intentions and see if I'm a good fit for you.
