Andrea von Troschke Practice Description
Anxiety and depression usually have deep roots. In therapy, we may explore together how past experiences and emotional needs were developed in childhood and how they have an impact on everyday reactions (automatic thoughts, feelings and actions that you want to change).
This process of exploration helps you understand your emotional reactions so that you can correct the false beliefs that are fueling your anxiety/depression. I will provide you with various techniques to unlearn the harmful old ways of thinking and feeling, and replace them with new, more effective ways to respond to emotional triggers.
Parallel to this deeper understanding of yourself, you will learn to live more consciously and apply new strategies to challenging situations. This will sometimes feel awkward because the old "me" wants to do the same old negative things. I will help you keep track of your progress until you break free from those unwanted reactions.
