After 21 years in the field I still love my work. I have learned to design effective treatment based on the individual needs and not to use a one-size-fits-all approach. I think it is important for clients to know that eating disorder treatment does not mean getting fat, it means getting healthy!

Ms. Holly A. Finlay Practice Description
Since we opened the Eating Disorders Treatment Center in the fall of 2011, our goal has been to provide New Mexico with the best possible treatment programs addressing the many types of eating disorders and the underlying and related issues often associated with this illness. In the beginning, we concentrated on Individual Psychotherapy and Nutritional Counseling and Rehabilitation as we gathered our staff and established our facilities. Our objective at the time was to create a clinic where we could provide individual psychotherapy for a variety of issues in which we had specialized training and experience, while working towards establishing the first Intensive Outpatient Program for Adolescents in New Mexico to provide that needed higher level of care. Soon we began providing an Intensive Outpatient Program for Adults as well. In addition to Individual Psychotherapy, and IOP we also offer Family Counseling for those struggling with the effects of having a family member with an eating disorder. In 2013, we began hosting a free Support Group in our offices for anyone currently experiencing or in recovery from an eating disorder. We have been blessed to add outstanding staff to our Clinic as we have grown. EDTC now has expertise in a very wide variety of psychotherapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Sensori-motor Psychotherapy, Art Therapy and many other Experiential Therapy forms, including Yoga, Meditation/Mindfulness, and Psycho-drama. In short, we believe in using an eclectic treatment approach and we offer a wide variety of modalities or methods to provide individualized treatment. Please check out our website to see what we can offer to help you or someone you know deal with an eating disorder or other behavioral health issue. If you are participating in one of our Intensive Outpatient Programs and you need to travel from outside the Albuquerque-Santa Fe area, we can assist you in arranging affordable accommodations during your treatment.
