Ms Charlie Stansfield, Counsellor, mental health social worker
Therapist
Often enough, we do not know our own mind. In the process of dialogue with another person, we are able to clarify what we think and feel.

Ms Charlie Stansfield Practice Description
As a counsellor, social work supervisor I use a range of different evidence based treatments, but most importantly, I practise a holistic client centred practice that is culturally sensitive. I have training and experience in narrative, brief solution focussed and family therapy. I also practice cognitive behavioural therapy and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
In the past I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety and post trauma symptoms. I have also worked with people experiencing grief and loss including sudden traumatic loss and missing persons. I have worked with people who identify as victims of crime, and others with relationship issues, drug and alcohol issues, anger issues, and career and workplace issues, including workplace bullying.
As a long time practitioner of yoga and meditation I like to find ways to incorporate the wisdom from these practices into my work if it suits you.
I also run individual and small group workshops that explore writing as a healing practice.
I have not listed myself as having any 'specialities' as regardless of my previous experience and training, i believe that every person is an individual and regardless of the presenting issue or difficulties, everyone benefits most from an approach that is unique and tailored towards individual needs.
