Dr. Ron Perry Practice Description
I have a strong background in both clinical and counseling psychology and extensive experience treating a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relational problems, and life transitions. I also specialize in treating addictions. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I place a strong emphasis on treating all clients with acceptance and respect, and all are welcome in my practice, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual/religious beliefs, or personal history. My approach to treatment is one that is uniquely tailored to the needs and preferences of the individual. Combining a variety of insight-oriented and solution-focused approaches, I will help you to identify your personal goals, increase awareness of maladaptive patterns in your life and relationships, and challenge you in a supportive and non-judgmental way to make positive and lasting changes. I also supervise a team of highly trained and skilled doctoral level interns, who are available to provide services at a significantly reduced rate. This is a great option for those who are seeking therapy or other psychological services but would otherwise have difficulty affording the standard rates. Additionally, I also work with an M.D. at my Berkeley office, Dr. Carolyn Schuman, who specializes in addictions. Together, we collaborate to provide one-stop care that includes both medical and psychological services at the same location for individuals who may require a medical component to their treatment, such as medication.
