About Dr. Nicholas Scull, FSRI Clinical Director:
I am a licensed psychologist in Rhode Island and a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania. I earned my doctorate in counseling psychology with a minor in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a masters degree in clinical social work from Bryn Mawr College. I currently work as the Clinical Director of the Psychological Services Department at Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute and I am an Assistant Professor at the American University of Kuwait (AUK).

I completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There, I received specialized training in psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and psychoeducational assessment for ADHD and learning differences. I have also received specialized postgraduate training in couples/marital counseling from the renowned Gottman Relationship Institute, the foremost leaders in couples research and therapy. I have more than 14 years of clinical experience working in range of settings including UCLA, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Swarthmore College, and public elementary, middle, high and charter schools, and community mental health centers.

I have numerous awards, publications, and professional presentations to my credit. I am an editorial reviewer for the International Journal of Peace and Development Studies (IJPDS) and International Perspectives in Psychology: Theory, Research, and Consultation, a scholarly journal published by the American Psychological Association (APA).

I am an active member in several professional organizations. I am the former President of the Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) and a member of the American Psychological Association (APA). I am also a member of the APA's Division 17 (Counseling Psychology), Division 52 (International Psychology), and I am the APA Division 52 International Liaison to Kuwait.

About FSRI Psychological Services Department:
Our clinic has an extremely professional and expert staff of clinicians. We are treat a broad range of concerns and all clinical services are offered in Arabic, English, and Hindi.

Our clinic specializes in individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults to address a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, worry, anger management, identity concerns, grief/loss, behavioral problems, academic problems, problems with low mood, family problems, and eating concerns. We are also well-qualified for marriage/couples counseling and family counseling.

Our clinic also specializes in neuropsychological and educational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Using the latest testing instruments, we do not just identify areas of weakness but are instead focused on individuals' strengths. All assessments are also focused on interventions and determining concrete recommendations to improve the problem.

We test for the following concerns:
-Neuropsychological conditions (cognitive functioning, memory problems, dementia, traumatic brain injury, stroke, etc.)
-Intelligence and cognitive assessments (WISC-IV)
-Academic ability (WIAT-III)
-Attention and concentration problems (ADHD)
-Learning disabilities including reading, writing, and math disabilities
-Developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder
-Dementia and geriatric concerns

Assessments will be tailored to the specific concerns of the client and will result in a very detailed report. The report will specifically address the reason for the referral and will provide detailed recommendations. Follow-up services are also available to help implement the treatment recommendations.
