Mr. Mark Smith Practice Description

Ive been working with families for over 30 years. I see a lot of individuals looking to work on their own personal issues. This can present as many different symptoms: depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, anger, eating disorders, substance use issues, sexual problems, internet addictions. Many of these people have issues related to their family of origin.

I also see many couples whose relationship has gone off course. They have lost that spark or the emotional connection they once shared. This may present itself as conflict in the marriage/relationship, communication problems, no sex, wondering about divorce or just generally struggling.

I also see parents who are struggling with parenting or the behaviour of their children. They want to get out of the conflict or simply be less concerned, but are having difficulty seeing things differently, having hope or just getting things back on track. They have lost the connection they once had with their child or children.

I also have devoted a certain amount of my practice to divorce related issues. As a Divorce Coach I may work within a collaborative model or with those in litigation. Either way this means working on parenting plans, helping to resolve issues related to "emotionally uncoupling" as well as emotional issues that get in the way of the legal decisions to be made. It also includes those who simply need emotional support as they negotiate the turbulent waters of divorce.

As a Parenting Coordinator I provide services to high conflict parents who can't resolve issues on their own and who need an objective third party who also has the authority to make decisions when they can't reach consensus. These decisions are then binding on both parties.
