Life can be full of obstacles. Some more difficult than others. Seeking outside help does not have to be viewed as an act of weakness or failure.

Psychotherapy is a wonderful way to “talk it out” and is meant to help the client develop his/her own personal potential and strengths through the therapeutic collaboration that exist in therapy. The therapist is not there to tell a client what to do next. A therapist will help the client identify and apply his/her own personal strengths and life skills as effective strategies for overcoming obstacles.

Choosing to work with a counselor aka therapist is making the decision to clarify the details of a life situation in order to move towards personal growth and change.

Seeking outside help should be viewed as an act of strength and accomplishment.
