Some people believe they cannot quit smoking because they have smoked for a long time, or because they started smoking when they were young, or because they smoke too many cigarettes each day, or because they tried to quit before and failed.
All of those are ‘beliefs’ and they are good beliefs to let go. The fact is, you were BORN a nonmoker, and that means your body has the natural ability to BE a nonsmoker.
Smoking is a learned habit, and that means it can be unlearned. Tobacco contains many harmful chemicals, its true, but those chemicals will be released from your body within 2 or 3 days. What you really want to change are your ‘learned habits’ around smoking, and that is where hypnosis can be useful.
I have worked with people who have smoked for decades, people who started very young, and people who have tried to quit many many times. The Dept of Health publishes statistics about people who stop smoking, and one fact is:
The majority of people who become nonsmokers for life try to stop smoking more than once before they become successful.
That means, if you have tried to quit before, you have an even higher chance of success now!
One lady came to me wanting hypnosis for smoking to help her stop smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. She smoked her first cigarette when she was only six years old and shortly after that smoking became a habit.
By the time she signed up for sessions with me she was 76 years old and had been smoking cigarettes for 70 years.
She had tried to quit before, without success. After completing a few sessions she did quit, and then she had a major setback.
But as she continued in session, after dealing with all the ‘associations’ and triggers connected to this habit, she was able to quit smoking for good.
If a petite lady can give up smoking after 70 years (smoking 1-2 packs a day), then you can too!
I no longer work with people directly for quitting smoking because I now focus on other areas in coaching and hypnosis. But you can still access this program.
