Emotional pain (depression, anxiety, anger...) comes when we are harsh or critical with ourselves. It's like living with a roommate who is always mean, follows you from room to room, and has no plans of moving out. Ever. I love helping clients transform their mean roommates into caring allies.

Treatment Approach
- Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) Trauma-informed therapy that helps individuals explore deeply held, painful emotional experiences within a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: I work as a coach and a mentor as much as a therapist, teaching you to give yourself the kind of nurturing and support that leads to a deeply felt sense of security. In the beginning of therapy, I will listen closely to learn how you speak to yourself, how you treat yourself, and how you take care of your physical and emotional needs. As we discover ways you can become kinder and more supportive with yourself, I might ask you to try out new ways of relating to yourself, talking to yourself, and being there for yourself. At times, this will bring a deep sense of relief and release, as you finally get the care you've longed for. At times, you may discover "self-limiting beliefs" that make it hard to be gentle, nurturing or supportive toward yourself. If/when that happens, we will look at how those beliefs once helped you stay connected to the people you depended on. We will look at how those beliefs formed and whether they still serve you now. When you feel ready, I will support you in developing new beliefs - making small changes, taking small risks that help you learn from experience (not just words) that you have more options in adulthood that you did as a child. Over time, this work creates deep, profound and lasting change in the most important relationship you have - the one with yourself.
