I know that starting therapy is a huge step in your life, and choosing a therapist is an important, and often tough, decision. This can be a daunting process, and I hope to put you at ease. A therapist-patient relationship is a very unique and special one, and you are trusting me with information about your personal life, thoughts, and feelings. I take that very seriously. It can take time to build that sense of trust. My top priority is that we take the time to make a genuine connection so that you feel safe, respected, understood, and supported in your sessions with me. I believe that is the foundation of truly good therapy and is necessary for growth, change, and progress. I have been in practice as a psychologist for many years, and I have gained a lot of experience and expertise treating many types of physical and mental health problems. I’m really proud of that, but my proudest, most treasured moments have been when my patients express feeling truly understood and cared about during our work together, and when we can celebrate their successes together. I’m confident that my empathy and passion for being a psychologist and helping people through their most difficult life circumstances will come across to you, too. Whatever you are going through, I’m with you, and you can feel assured that you are in good hands.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.

In my method of practice, within a framework of making a strong connection with my patients, I also want to help you facilitate real growth, change, and results in your life, whatever that means to you personally. I would like to get to know you as a whole, individual person so that I can fully understand the context of your life and what might be contributing to the problems you are coming in with. I respect each person’s individual differences and preferences. Because each person is unique, I will work together with you to design a treatment approach that is unique to you. I care very much about the quality of my work and the therapy I provide. Everyone has strengths and resilience, and I will work with you to build upon the strengths you are already coming in with. I believe that good therapy is a little bit hard at times, meaning that you feel challenged in a safe and healthy way. Knowledge—about yourself, about the problems you are having—is power. I hope that our work together will lead you to learn about new ideas and concepts, think about things in a different way, and understand yourself in new and insightful ways. My patients always teach me something, which helps me grow as a therapist, so I plan to learn from you, too. I want you to leave therapy feeling confident, secure, and armed with a strong set of skills, tools, and knowledge that you can apply throughout your life. Most of all, I hope that you will leave our work having instilled the importance of treating yourself well and with self-compassion, and knowing your value as a person. I hope that through our work together, you will come to see yourself as a person who has everything it takes to reach your goals and build the kind of life and future you want, no matter the obstacles and barriers you face.
