I am a Clinical Psychology graduate (BPS), an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP), with further training in Gestalt therapy, and process work. I have 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. During this time I have worked for the NHS, as well as for charities, private sector, and in private practice. In addition to my own private practice in South West London, I am currently practising in Priory (a private psychiatric hospital in Woking).
My training in several psychotherapy modalities allows me to approach every client in a unique way, depending on their needs in treatment. As part of my integrative approach, I employ a variety of techniques, namely cognitive analysis and restructuring, behavioural analysis, role-play, empty chair and cathartic techniques, dream analysis and work, guided imagery, Socratic questioning, and addressing existential factors, body scan and mindful seeing/sensing and hearing.
I have practiced Mindfulness under guidance of several teachers for many years. At present I offer Mindfulness teaching and training in my practice. At the same time I've received a training (Master of Arts) in Religious Studies. My studies provided me with knowledge about the intersection between mental health and religiosity and spirituality. This has become one of the areas that I specialise in.
I have experience on a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), general anxiety and worries, health anxiety, phobias, performance anxiety, anger management, eating disorders, low self-esteem, life transitions and relationship difficulties.
My work follows the guidelines of the National Institute of Clinical Excellence to provide effective treatment interventions.
