Before I went to therapy, I felt confused. Things looked good on paper: I had supportive friends and family, some money, and an impressive resume. But I couldn’t figure out why I felt stuck in a cycle. I would get excited about a person, a project, or an idea, and then lose interest. In therapy, I began to realize that I would often get trapped in a big feeling, feel overwhelmed, and move away from it. With the right support, I came to understand that momentum in life doesn't come from avoiding hard feelings. It comes from holding them, listening to them, and learning from them, difficult as that can be.
I work to help you better hold anxiety, depression, shame, doubt, intimacy and just wanting more from life. I see adults and couples and I also facilitate groups. I use modalities such as EMDR and IFS which can create positive results faster. Clients describe me as warm, humorous, and calming. My style is relational, trauma-informed and based in the present.
“You can only be so enlightened alone", my therapist often told me. Sitting with someone who needs nothing from you can be strange at first, like being in silence after years of noise. But within this frame, we can get beyond a single story and into a more dimensional and beautiful experience of life. If any of this resonates, I would love to hear from you.
