Coral Short (They/Them)

Psychologist, SEP, MAFA, NVC, ECPR
Are you on a journey of self-actualization and liberation? My journey as a queer, non-binary settler activist, and artist has been deeply intertwined with the pursuit of health, healing, and wholeness. With over three decades dedicated to 2SLGBTQI+ communities, I understand the unique challenges and joys of navigating a complex and often oppressive world. I believe in the power of co-regulation and the transformative potential of joy, resilience, and radical self-compassion. In my practice, I blend somatic experiencing and mindfulness to create a safe(r) and supportive space for individuals to explore their identities, heal from trauma, and cultivate meaningful connections. I am committed to anti-oppression frameworks and engage regularly in anti-racist work. If you are seeking a warm therapist who honours you and supports your path of self-discovery and liberation, I invite you to connect with me.

Treatment Approach

  • Somatic
Approach Description: Somatic Experiencing recognizes that our emotions are held within our bodies. By learning to listen to your body's signals, we can find pathways to healing that go far beyond traditional talk therapy. I'll support you in slowly cultivating a deeper sense of self-compassion and developing a more embodied understanding of yourself for navigating life. Together, we can explore your gender, navigate polyamory, cultivate creativity, and embrace radical self-acceptance on your own terms. I invite you to slow down and experience support.

Coral Short Practice Details

Therapy Sessions Coral Short Practice Description
I specialize in supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals on their healing journeys. Healing is a non-linear and deeply personal process. As a queer, non-binary Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I offer a compassionate, kind, and affirming space to reconnect with your body's intuitive wisdom. Drawing from my extensive background in activism, art, and community organizing, I bring a gentle and embodied approach to our work together. We'll explore how past experiences may be impacting your present, and we will co-create a new, more resourceful way of being in your life. I offer a sliding scale of fees and a variety of accessible options, including somatic group practices on Zoom during the colder months, weekly YouTube videos, and eco-somatic hikes, to make healing more accessible.
