Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you still don’t feel like you’re getting anywhere? You still feel anxious, stressed out or depressed? Although social media may give us the impression that everyone else has their life together except you, that’s not the case. Struggle is part of being human and there are times when the challenges in our lives can feel overwhelming. As a practical, interactive and compassionate therapist, my treatment approach is to help clients gain insight and increase awareness in the areas of their lives that are problematic.
As a licensed professional counselor (LPC) I can help you learn more effective ways to let go of the things that are holding you back and to explore what you want more of in your life. I work with individuals, couples and families to work through communication issues, marriage issues, career concerns, stress, divorce, addictions including problem gambling, relationship problems, grief, life transitions, spirituality, navigating retirement, PTSD and trauma and issues of abuse or emotional or physical neglect.

Approach Description: Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or anxious in your life or relationship? If you are stressed, hurt or are struggling in your relationships, therapy can be a compassionate, non-judgmental space to heal, grow, and find new direction. I assist clients in finding solutions that fit for them and use techniques that go beyond traditional talk therapy that can give more effective results. I believe that my job as a therapist is to offer a positive and non-judgmental attitude to help clients learn the value of having self-compassion, which can then lead to change and growth.
I use a client-centered approach to psychotherapy, focusing on building a supportive and collaborative environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I integrate evidence-based techniques that will work best for your particular experiences, including psychodynamic, family systems, Solution Focused, EMDR, the Flash Technique, Four Blinks and mindfulness practices as well as other techniques.
I will help you learn ways to access the underlying emotions and beliefs that may be blocking your growth so that you can achieve a happier, healthier life. Life doesn’t have to be such a struggle.

I am passionate about the work I do with clients, and I believe that when we have a healthy interconnection between mind, body and spirit we can have a healthy and satisfying life, however, life circumstances sometimes get in the way. I draw from a wealth of professional and personal experience to help you build the life you want, based on your personal values and goals, and to guide you in developing more effective coping skills to help you meet life’s challenges.
I use a client-centered approach in working with adults individually, as couples or as a family. I see clients with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, stress, career issues, addictions including problem gambling, marriage counseling, grief, relationship counseling, codependence, life transitions, retirement, trauma and PTSD, abuse or neglect and spirituality.
I provide a nonjudgmental and supportive space that allows clients to safely explore their thoughts and feelings, and the techniques I use are evidence-based. The therapeutic modalities I typically use are a combination of a Family Systems approach, Insight focused therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, psychoeducation, EMDR, The Flash, The 4 Blinks, Solution Focused and CBT.
In the first couple of sessions, I will collaborate with you to gather information to get a broader view of your areas of concern and we will work together to create goals and a plan of action. You’re the expert on your life and my role is to guide and support you as you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and try out new skills.
