I work with patients who present with a wide variety of psychological conditions. I particularly enjoy helping those who suffer from anxiety disorders, including panic disorder (panic attacks), social anxiety, generalized anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and phobias. I also work with children and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD / ADD), primarily through neurofeedback (I am BCIA Board Certified in Neurofeedback [BCN]). Additionally, I frequently work with patients who suffer from major depression and related depressive disorders, such as dysthymia. Lastly, I provide psychological evaluations (typically conducted for diagnosis and treatment), ADHD assessment with continuous performance testing, and academic / intelligence testing (excluding public schools).
Further, I am trained to work with medical patients with challenging or complex medical conditions and co-morbid psychological factors that contribute to the primary medical condition. For example, I work with patients for tinnitus relief, smoking cessation, and lifestyle modification for obesity or diabetes.
I always attempt to target the patient's core, debilitating symptoms with individualized, scientifically-based treatments. All treatments are designed with goal of providing relief that continues long after treatment ends. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the foundation of most therapy sessions. However, I often combine treatments, such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and neurofeedback to help the patient meet all patient treatment goals.
