Approach Description: Therapy with me is collaborative, down-to-earth, and action-oriented—a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered. I take a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approach, meaning we focus on what’s working, not just what’s not. I integrate evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness, while recognizing that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether we’re working through anxiety, trauma, burnout, or life transitions, my goal is to provide real tools you can actually use in your daily life. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your resilience, set boundaries, break unhelpful patterns, and create a life that feels more balanced, whole, and aligned. Let’s build that together.

Dr. Mikaela Zuniga of Building Resilient Minds Practice Description
Welcome to Resilient Minds, where therapy is a journey of healing, growth, and resilience. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, know that you already have the strength within you to navigate these challenges—you don’t have to do it alone. I’m Dr. Mikaela Zuniga, and for over a decade, I’ve helped individuals, families, and communities harness their resilience through life transitions, trauma, and mental health challenges. My experience spans child welfare, transitional housing, crisis stabilization, and community mental health, always grounded in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach. Therapy here is not just about coping but about reclaiming balance, breaking unhelpful patterns, and deepening your connection to yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, family dynamics, or severe mental illness, we’ll work together to build practical tools that empower you to create real, lasting change. I specialize in working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, first-gen professionals, caregivers, and cycle-breakers who are forging their own paths while balancing cultural expectations. Sessions are collaborative, down-to-earth, and action-oriented, focusing on strategies you can integrate into your daily life. True peace and wholeness—Shalom—is possible, and therapy can help you embrace it. At Resilient Minds, we’re not just working on healing—we’re building a foundation of strength, self-trust, and resilience for the future.
