I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and Certified Sex Therapist (CST). I have experience working with diverse populations, and as a gay man, my personal struggles with addiction inspired me to pursue a career in therapy to help our community develop healthier coping strategies. My personal experiences have helped develop a deeper understanding of the struggles and obstacles individuals encounter in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the areas where psychotherapy can be most impactful for the clients that walk through our door. As a therapist, it is important to be able to find a space where people feel welcome and supported. The practice was founded with the LGBTQIA+ community in mind. Often, we lack the support needed to cope with lifelong struggles, which can lead to maladaptive coping mechanisms such as sex, substance use, self-harm, alcohol abuse, and toxic relationships with peers and loved ones. While many factors contribute to the prevalence of these behaviors in our culture, our work together allows us to explore the underlying purposes they serve—with the goal of fostering meaningful and lasting change.
