As a parent, I understand the need to ensure your children are happy and healthy. Struggling socially or academically at school can be anguishing to the child, parent, family, and teacher. I was raised in a family of educators and have worked and treated clients in primary, secondary, and through college settings. In fact, my brother and sister inspired me to become a psychologist. They were both diagnosed with learning disabilities as children. I became a psychologist so that I could help others overcome challenges just like the one that helped my brother and sister. My online practice is currently focused on teens, young adults, and parents. With parents, I focus on successful parenting strategies for children with behavior issues and special learning challenges. I work with parents who home-school and want support for themselves as well as ensuring they have the right psycho social development for their children. I have experience diagnosing and working with different learning disorders, attention deficit, intellectual giftedness and learning strengths and weaknesses.
I am a warm, compassionate, and very active cognitive-behavioral therapist. My clients like me and like working with me, but make no mistake, we do the work. I team with parents and other providers as appropriate.
Being part of a military family, I understand and have experience in treating anxiety in children, teens and adults. I have a family member with POTS/Dysautonomia and have developed a specialization in treating the psychological symptoms often associated with POTS like tired masking depression, the anxiety disorders, and being demoralized by always being sick and tired.
