Research shows that the most essential component to change in therapy is your relationship with your therapist. Above all, I seek to offer a healing relationship where you feel safe to explore and share vulnerably and authentically. This involves doing my best to attune to your emotions and needs, stay curious about your lived experience, and understand you as much as I am able. I work well with sensitive and unconventional folks, including LGBTIA+ folks and those who are polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous. I love affirming the strength of sensitivity and the uniqueness you offer in a world that often doesn't feel enough and asks you to fit a restrictive mold. I also specialize working with young adults, women, and those who've experienced religious harm/trauma. Please feel free to reach out and see if we're a good fit!

- Therapy is an investment in your wellbeing that will pay off in your relationships, school, work, and overall life satisfaction. I also know that financial limitations impact our ability to make such an investment. So, I offer limited sliding scale spots based on financial need. We discuss what is workable for us both at the beginning of working together and reassess after the first 3 months and/or as financial circumstances change.

- I am out-of-network and can happily provide a superbill for you to seek out-of-network reimbursement.

We're going to start with what you need from therapy. From there, I often will want to understand what emotions you might be struggling with, get curious about your past and present experience of family and relationships, and what's getting in your way, (which is likely connected to the previous two).
I will validate your experience, try to identify patterns in these areas, and perhaps offer a perspective you may not have considered before, taking into account what you've been through and the needs you've been (unconsciously) trying to meet through your actions. I get curious, wonder what's happening for you in your physical body (where emotions begin), ask about emotional experience, family dynamics, consider power and privilege, and relational unconscious phenomena. I aim for the balance between personable and professional and love using humor to connect when it fits for us both.
The ultimate goals is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood so that something starts to shift for you. This often involves relating to yourself and others in new ways, having more emotional space, self-awareness, curiosity, compassion, clearer boundaries, communication, and ability to identify and meet your needs.
