Mojdeh Motamedi (She/Her)

Psychologist, PhD
 therapist: Mojdeh Motamedi,

Great job taking the first step to improving your well-being by looking for a therapist. I work with a range of child and teen concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, OCD, selective mutism, autism, adjustment disorders, ADHD, tics, skin or hair pulling, eating disorders (e.g., ARFID, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder), individuals with co-occurring developmental delays, and other diagnoses, as well as parenting difficulties. I'm a tri-lingual therapist focused on listening to your needs and supporting you in your goals. This can include helping you or your child improve or reduce a behavior, stop avoiding something, improve a relationship, feel/sleep/eat better, process trauma, worry less, have better school attendance or grades, make friends, speak up, or accept yourself or a situation. If you're not seeing the progress you hope, I will take feedback and adjust the approach to what works best for you or identify other services that might help you meet your goals better.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Approach Description: I use what are considered best practices in therapy. This includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), exposure response and prevention (ERP), parent child interaction therapy (PCIT), parent management training (PMT), motivational interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety, Eco-systemic Family Therapy (ESFT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and other techniques. I also use attachment focused approaches like the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency model, positive and gentle parenting, and the Whole Brain Child. I adjust my approach based on what works best for what you're seeking help with and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Given I train and supervise other therapist and also research mental health services, I seek to keep myself up to date on the latest evidenced-based approaches. My focus is on listening to your needs and your feedback to ensure I am addressing your goals and providing you with the validation and support you are looking for. You deserve to be heard and receive high quality care.
