I have over 12 years experience of working as a counsellor and have worked in many different and varied sectors, ranging from voluntary to private. This has enabled me to work with both long and short term counselling contracts dealing with a whole range of emotional and personal issues such as Depression, anxiety, grief low self- esteem, relationships issues, work issues, stress, nervous breakdown, family problems and chronic fatigue.
Counselling is a talking and listening therapy that helps people to make sense of their difficulties and discover their potential for a happier life. It is professional, non-judgemental in a confidential environment to explore your thoughts, feelings, and the relationships in your life. This allows a process through which an individual can take time out from their usual routine to consider the aspects of their life that they want to improve.
Everyone goes through difficult times in life. Very often, we don’t want to discuss our problems with our family or friends. This is where counselling can help as it offers you extra help and support, making sure that you’re not dealing with difficult issues and feelings on your own. Counselling allows you to work on self-change, which allows you to work towards self-fulfilment and awareness of who you are.
