My counseling style has been forged in prisons and hospitals. In the former, I was a chaplain ministering to people with extreme trauma. In the latter I worked in organ donation, a field which ought to be seen as a first responder profession. In that role I journeyed with many people through physical pain, grief, loss, and the hospital environment.
