As a first-generation Canadian, I come from an upbringing where mental health issues were not often acknowledged or addressed. Further, society has a way of stigmatizing mental health challenges. Factors like these can make it hard to develop the skills to effectively cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, persistent low mood, or trauma-processing. I am passionate about helping my clients develop effective coping strategies and perspectives to enhance their well-being across all areas of their lives. Additionally, I provide clients with an environment where they can feel heard and understood, and safe to express their innermost thoughts and feelings at their pace -- which on its own can be incredibly healing.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to prospective clients to help them assess whether they feel like we could be a good fit to work together.

Approach Description: Though Natalie draws from philosophies associated with the therapy approaches listed on this profile, she will use an eclectic approach that may combine aspects of many of them in your treatment. She pays specific attention to your childhood experiences and how they have shaped your personality and worldview. Childhood experiences often gives clues as to where certain core beliefs, personal tendencies, and relationship styles originated. Exploring one's childhood in therapy gives the client a chance to better understand it and modify potentially harmful beliefs about the self or unhealthy habits that may have developed as a result of certain experiences.

Do you work a full-time 9-5 job and find it difficult to fit therapy into your life? No problem. Saroya Psychotherapy caters to working professionals by offering sessions in the evenings (after 5pm Eastern Time), on your lunch break, or on weekends.
Saroya Psychotherapy uses a variety of therapy approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. As the client, you don't need to understand what each of these approaches are and how they differ. After hearing your story and collaborating with you to come up with therapy goals to better your situation, your therapist will apply the most appropriate approach from one or more of these therapy modalities.
