Schizophrenia is a specific type of psychosis characterized by delusions and hallucinations. It is considered to be a thought disorder as opposed to a mood disorder such manic-depression (bipolar I and II). Anti-psychotic medications can be helpful initially to "clear" the mind, but I believe the most important aspect of the treatment is the psychoanalytic relationship over a number years. I believe schizophrenia, like all mental illness, is based in traumatic experiences for the individual and can best be dealt with treating the brain with nutrients and the mind with very careful talk therapy over a number of years. You are welcome to call my office at 661-478-0667 for an evaluation.

Schizophrenia treatment at our facility is centered around providing comprehensive and compassionate care for individuals navigating the challenges of this complex mental health disorder. Our multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals collaborates to develop individualized treatment plans that may include a combination of antipsychotic medications, psychotherapy, and psychosocial interventions. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supported employment aim to address both the cognitive and social aspects of schizophrenia. We prioritize creating a supportive and understanding environment, fostering a therapeutic alliance that encourages individuals to actively participate in their treatment. Our goal is to help individuals manage symptoms, improve daily functioning, and enhance their overall quality of life. Additionally, we work collaboratively to provide ongoing support and education for individuals and their families, promoting a holistic approach to long-term recovery.
