As someone who was diagnosed with depression early on in life, I know how debilitating it can be. The world feels gray, everything seems purposeless and you have little to no energy to do anything. As someone who is successfully managing his depression, I know first hand the tools and modalities that can help bring joy and color back into your life. You may have depression, but it doesn't have to define you. In fact, you can use it as a springboard to get back into life and restore meaning and purpose.

Do you feel overwhelmed? Are you stuck in the same cycle just trying to get from day to day? Are you experiencing a transition that never seems to end? You may have noticed that you are not coping in the healthiest of ways. Perhaps you’re starting to disconnect and distance yourself from others— avoiding invites from friends or family, letting calls go to voicemail and ignoring texts for weeks. Not to mention, you also feel worn out and no amount of sleep seems to help. There’s still time to make some changes. You’ve always been there for other people, but now it’s time to show up for yourself. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients on major to minor life issues to provide clarity, relief, and understanding that allows for a way forward. I would love to join you on your journey. Being depressed sucks, and you are probably reading this because you suspect that there's a way to feel much better than you currently feel. Whether you've been depressed for years and years or this is your first time, I can help. Big changes don’t happen all at once, but in a short time you can take action towards building the life that you want. Therapy can help you start to understand the patterns that are keeping you stuck and take steps to help you feel happier and more content. Depression is a disorder that thrives off isolation. Its grasp tightens as the person affected withdraws from the people and activities that would normally bring them joy. When treating clients suffering with depression, I employ an integrative therapeutic approach to fit the needs of the individual as depression does not look the same for every person.

Clinical depression is a very common mood disorder that can affect anyone, yet women are twice as likely to develop depression as men. Contributing factors include reproductive hormones, a differing female response to stress, and social pressures that are unique to a woman’s life experiences. Depression causes feelings of sadness, helplessness, and worthlessness. Women with depression are likely to lose interest or pleasure in normal activities and may have difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions. Depression can be mild to moderate with symptoms of apathy, little appetite, difficulty sleeping, low self-esteem, and decreased energy or fatigue. Or symptoms can be more severe.
