Life can be hard. Sometimes we have difficulty communicating with our partner, boss, children, or our parents. Sometimes we have difficulty adjusting to a new environment or new life circumstances. At times, we may feel stuck and unsure of how to make changes in our lives. Other times we may want to delve deeper and truly understand our motivations and desires. Sometimes we just need to feel heard and understood. Having an unbiased, non judgmental person to talk to can help.
Did you know that 80% of new moms experience the "baby blues" after giving birth? It is completely normal to have a wide range of emotions- including some sad emotions- after you have a baby. If your sadness lasts longer than two weeks and appears to be getting worse rather than getting better, you may be experiencing postpartum depression. This can happen to men as well. Please know that you are not alone and, while it may not seem like it right now, you can feel better and are taking a wonderful first step by seeking out a therapist.
