I find that this painful way of relating occurs frequently in the lives of the clients who come to see me. Through exploring what is often an underlying trauma we can get to the bottom of why we relate in this way, often finding new and more nourishing ways of being in relationship
I have a particular interest in supporting people with breaking free from codependent patterns of relating and learning to prioritise their own needs first , working towards understanding the origins of these patterns and coping skills in order to move forward. We may work specifically around the need for implementing boundaries and self care.
Resolving childhood trauma and stress will eliminate the need for codependent behavior, which stems from childhood distorted messages. Set boundaries effectively, develop self-worth, and an inner sense of safety that is not dependent on external variables.
