A negative sense of self or negative body image can significantly effect a person's ability to relate to others as well as the world around them and often leads to other mental health issues, such as depression, relationship issues, and social anxiety. Shifting perceptions of self can be hard and often takes personal commitment, self-compassion, and the willingness to step outside of one's comfort zone.
