Suicidal Thoughts therapists in Brent, Florida FL
Dr. Bridget Kromrey
Psychologist, PsyD
I have worked with individuals across the lifespan who experience suicidal thoughts, self harm, and who have attempted suicide. I believe therapy is a unique space where we can explore these vulnerable thoughts and behaviors, while creating a space to promote safety, coping, and change. Suicidal thoughts can often leave individuals feeling more isolate and alone. My hope is through therapy, these experiences can feel less lonely.

My therapeutic approach in dealing with suicide ideation/thoughts is based on using Cognitive Behavior Therapist (CBT) coupled with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). At the core, using CBT I combine myriad treatment and techniques that all share a common principle that thoughts, rather than external circumstances, cause feelings and behaviors. As such, I make the assumption that client manifestations of client feelings and behaviors originate from client cognitions, individual self-talk, attitudes, value systems and expectations.

Fleeting suicidal thoughts can be normal. It’s when the the thoughts increase and/or lead to planning or intent. Feeling suicidal is scary. Through intensive safety planning, Baker Acts can be avoidable. It is my goal to utilize the least restrictive level of care to resolve intensive feelings of pain, helplessness, and hopelessness.
