I have supported hundreds of couples over the past 15+ years who are navigating the crazy world of parenting (I've got two!) and look forward to helping you get your relationship where you want it to be. Poor communication? Broken trust? Endless arguments? I look forward to hearing from you.
Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage and Family Therapist
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years experience helping adolescents, family, couples and individuals reach a happy and fulfilling life. I provide a safe and compassionate environment where I welcome any experience with no judgments, no matter what the struggle is.
I have worked as a parent educator and I am trained in Triple P Positive Parenting. I have also worked with parents throughout the life span in addressing challenges of parenting children of all ages.
Sometimes mothers need a soft place to land to vent their frustrations while still holding their love for their child. I am rostered with UCSF Benioff as a Child-Parent Psychotherapist and I can support you in what may come up for you around your parenting role in your individual session with me. Motherhood/Caregiving is difficult and sometimes we just need a safe space to discuss what is going on for us.
I enjoy helping clients accept and like themselves, organize around strengths, achieve greater emotional presence, think clearly, and let go of shame, guilt and old habits of emotional survival. I believe therapy should lead to better decisions, as well as improved quality of life and relationships.
Pre-Licensed Professional, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (103346), Certified Yoga & Meditation Instructor
I have experience working children, adolescents, couples together and co-parenting, and parents individually. Much of my background is working with children, families and parents and I am deeply passionate about this work. I help support parents in many areas.
Parents are a special part of our practice. As a family therapy practice we always integrate parents into our work and also offer special programs for parents raising transgender, non-binary, or gender expansive kids.
If you’re in the thick of a new phase of parenthood where none of your previous coping skills seem to be working, therapy can help. The ways in which children hold a mirror up to ourselves can be an emotional experience. You also may be processing your own childhood and shifting intergenerational patterns, both of which can feel intensely isolating. Together, let's process your experiences, develop new tools and skills to meet your current parenting phase, and integrate it all into your parenting narrative.
In individual or couples sessions, I support parents in various ways including but not limited to: processing the stress of daily life with children, building skills for emotional regulation to model and teach to children, strengthening the relationship between parents, and understanding child development.
Parenting is the toughest job we have, hands down. All parents need and deserve support. Most of don't have the support we should. It's imperative to get perspective and support as a parent. I have formal education in positive discipline, emotional understanding and attachment parenting styles. I am also an experienced mother myself.
