Maria Gray Practice Description
Are you feeling stuck? Maybe you just don’t feel like yourself, or you may be feeling grief, or overwhelming feelings of anxiety, fear or panic. You may be experiencing the shock that we feel after recent traumatic events or the long term effects of growing up around mentally ill or addicted parents (developmental trauma). I can help. I specialize in treating trauma and addictions, grief & loss, relationship issues, and acute stress that manifests as anxiety and/or depression. Since trauma affects us psychologically and physically, it's necessary to treat both the mind and the body. I'm trained (certified) in brain/body therapies including: EMDR, Brainspotting, and NARM. These modalities are highly effective in reducing symptoms like anxiety, panic and depression. Using a relational approach, and Somatic Psychotherapy, we take time to explore what's happening with you internally (in your nervous system) so you can learn how to stay calm and "regulated" when you feel triggered. I also offer group therapy in my practice. Group therapy offers my clients an environment where they can learn to put their thoughts and feelings into words which results in deeper relationships with others and with themselves.
