As a registered psychosexual therapist, I specialise in helping individuals with trauma and PTSD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, and sexual difficulties, including intimacy and trust. I am also passionate about providing support for navigating gendered, sexual, racial, and neuro diversity, and cultural identities, who may experience discrimination or internalised stigma.
Centering unconditional positive regard, I work closely with the client to deeply explore how their past experiences, current situations, family background, and social elements of their lives have impacted their wellbeing. I then work together with the client to explore how they navigate life within their social and environmental surroundings, as well as how to establish an environment and support system that is conducive to growth and healthy self-esteem.
As a therapist, I deeply value sex positivity, social justice and removing the stigma and social constraints surrounding mental health work. I also aim to move away from binary and the pathologisation of queerness and neurodiversity, and provide dedicated support for people who feel they fall outside of the margins of the dominant societal group.
Peer support towards queerness and neurodiversity is an important therapeutic element that I provide - living actively in the queer community and with neurodiversity myself, I am able to genuinely connect with others who may identify with similar experiences.

I am passionate about providing caring and compassionate psychological support that is tailored to clients with various mental health issues.
My expertise covers a broad range of presentations. These include adjustment difficulties to life transitions and work stress, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders, self-esteem issues, and loss and grief.
I am particularly interested in how some of these issues might impact individuals in the workplace, and I offer support in relation to this.
I have a rich background in conducting clinical, diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments and delivering personalised psychological interventions. My research specialties also include addressing sleep problems and psychotic spectrum disorders.
I work with a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, CBT, and DBT. With this range of approaches to draw from, I will tailor a treatment plan to suit my clients' specific needs to give them the best outcomes possible.
I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and have over a decade of experience in senior and supervisory roles. Having practiced in Hong Kong and Australia, I deliver therapy in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

I am a member of the LGBTIQA+ community and welcome working with people from the community for any issue, but particularly with suicidality and gender dysphoria. I also very much welcome working with non-LGBTIQA+ men and women for any of the difficulties listed on my Specialities page and other issues beyond that list.
I work with people’s understanding of their mental states and knowledge of their body, utilising somatic principles in conjunction with the specialist modalities listed above.
The areas I specialise in are as follows: attachment disorders, complex trauma histories, those diagnosed with personality disorders, specialising in Borderline Personality Disorder. More recently I have been working with a lot of clients who have ADHD and ASD. I offer ASD assessments and hope to offer ADHD assessment screeners soon. Services for NDIS participants are fully subsidised by NDIS and provided by H-L Therapy staff at either the H-L Therapy office or in other community locations, including participant's houses.
