Although it is normal to have what is colloquially known as the “baby blues” following the birth of a child, this tends to naturally go away not too long after. PPD can start during the pregnancy to one year after the birth of a child, where the sufferer will show the typical effects of depression which affects their mood; the way they feel about themselves, how they relate to others, and how they interact with the rest of the world. Ultimately, PPD affects people from many different walks of life, regardless of the ease or difficulty of the pregnancy, whether they are a first-time parent or have other children, whether they are married or not, and regardless of socioeconomic status, education, and cultural background.

Becoming a parent is overwhelming. Acknowledging the hormonal changes that are taking place as well as the life transition is important in this journey, as well as having self-compassion and building a circle of support.

Through evidence-based interventions and a nurturing approach, I help clients navigate the complex feelings of sadness, anxiety, and overwhelm that may arise after childbirth. Together, we explore coping strategies, self-care techniques, and effective communication skills to promote healing and well-being. Whether you're a new parent struggling with postpartum depression or supporting a loved one through this challenging time, I'm here to offer guidance and support every step of the way.

Registered Psychotherapist, RP(qualifying), MACP
After my own experience postpartum as a psychotherapist I realized there is an intense need for therapists to better understand and support people through their postpartum journey. If I struggled as someone trained and experienced in psychotherapy what about the new parents who do not have that knowledge? I want to give back and be a support at such a beautiful but very difficult time.
