Coalesce Family Services
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, LISW-CP
At Coalesce Family Services, addressing depression is a cornerstone of our work, as we understand the profound impact it can have on individuals' lives. Guided by Hazel Jacobs, LCSW, LISW-CP, our approach to treating depression is rooted in empathy, expertise, and a commitment to personalized care. We recognize that depression manifests uniquely for everyone, influencing thoughts, emotions, physical health, and daily functioning in diverse ways.
Utilizing a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and an integrative treatment model, we tailor our therapeutic strategies to fit each client's specific needs. Our goal is to not only alleviate the symptoms of depression but also to address its underlying causes, helping clients develop the tools they need for long-term resilience and emotional wellness.
In our sessions, clients can expect a safe, supportive environment where they can explore their experiences without judgment. We focus on building strengths, enhancing coping strategies, and fostering a sense of hope and empowerment. By working collaboratively to set achievable goals, we guide our clients toward regaining control over their mood and rediscovering joy and satisfaction in their lives.
Coalesce Family Services is dedicated to transforming the challenges of depression into opportunities for growth and healing. Whether you're experiencing persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, feelings of hopelessness, or other symptoms of depression, we're here to support you on your journey toward a brighter, more fulfilling future.

As a non-licensed practitioner, I cannot legally claim to work with depression (because it’s a diagnosable condition). That said, I’ve successfully helped a number of depressed clients (officially diagnosed or not) who’ve been in conventional treatment for years. I also speak from personal experience, as a guy whose family was affected by undiagnosed depression.
I believe the “chemical imbalance” model that the pharmaceutical companies use is simplistic. It reflects our society’s love of easy answers, how little therapy insurance companies want to pay for, and the over-specialization of health care, which results in practitioners who don’t understand how mind, body, and spirit fit together.
A holistic long-term solution can be as simple as diet, herbs, and supplements (some as effective as prescriptions, without the side-effects). Or it might include coaching to develop healthy relationships and solve problems that are getting you down, improving self-esteem, learning healthy habits and positive coping mechanisms, and healing and energy treatments to change the negative messages you’ve absorbed through life.
