From my own experience of parenting and grand parenting comes a heart for parents to learn how to effectively deal with their children! Never before in history has there been so much information available on the subject of parenting! And never before has there been so much confusion on the part of parents as to how best to parent - especially in this era of social media! We tend to replicate or react to the parenting we received as children. But there are tested and proven principles of parenting that can help parents learn the art and skill of dealing effectively with their children. Our goal is to raise responsible adults, not just obedient children.

I believe that at times it is difficult for us to see things clearly. My goal is to help you re-adjust your way of looking at yourself and your world, and to help you realize what is possible. I believe that the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship that develops between you and me.

Are you tired of having your past experience or past traumas interfere with your ability to have the life you want? Interfere with your ability to have the relationships you want? I specialize in helping children, adolescents, and adults that have experienced trauma and are having an especially hard time coping and experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. I especially enjoy working with parents. Parenting can be hard, and its even harder when you're a parent that has experienced abuse in your childhood that you haven't yet addressed. I empower parents that have experienced childhood trauma by giving them the tools, guidance, and support to heal, grow in their role as a parent, and cultivate the relationship they want with their children. We all want to be great parents to our children, and therapy can be a way of taking care of yourself in order to better care for your children. It can be hard to know where to start, and almost impossible to start alone. I work from a strength-based perspective and tailor my therapeutic practice to meet each persons individual needs. I am currently only offering virtual therapy and would love to help you through this process. Please go to my website to book a free consultation.

Parenting is a lesson in contrast. High stress, high fulfillment, the answer to meaning and purpose and the question of ability and function. It can be lonely, isolating, and stressful. It can challenge the best of relationships. It forces us to redefine our sense of Self, and how we connect with others. Let's sort through it!

I have built my family therapy practice around working intensely with parents. I believe that parents are the agents of change in the family due to their status as leaders and their position of authority. Parents have it hard these days, especially since they are working with outdated tools. The parenting research has evolved tremendously over the past ten to fifteen years and parents have been left in the dark. I bring this new science into my work as I help parents shift their lens from an authoritarian style to positive, relationship-based approach. Parents learn to shift their mindset from seeing their child as misbehaving, lazy or unmotivated to stressed, fearful or confused. Children do not give their parents a hard time. They are having a hard time. Most importantly, when parents can change the way that they see their children, their children will change.
