Child therapists in Beardstown, Illinois IL
Ashley Miller Nolan
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
I LOVE playing and no one is better at playing than kids! I have been honored to witness children courageously bear their souls, face their hard life situations, fears, and shadow self (shame/embarrassment/guilt) and therefore bring freedom and creative, helpful ways of living into their lives. Obviously, play therapy looks different online, but with a few toys on each end and a child who feels safe and seen...watch out, they will create, play and process through what they need to without conscious knowledge or effort of doing so. I am just thankful to be along for the ride!
Most of my talk therapy will come with their parents who I like to work with more consistently than with the child. Helping parents figure out how they are reacting to their children and their children's thoughts, feelings, sensations, urges, and behaviors allow parents to create more comfortable and helpful ways of parenting and interacting with the little human being in their care.
Adolescent human beings are also a joy to connect with.

Lillian Gecker
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I specialize in working with adolescents ages 12+. I am deeply familiar with the developmental trajectory for teens and the challenges they face in their family systems, social lives, school settings, and as they begin to develop their own sense of self. I love working with young people on building their self-awareness and celebrating their unique values and identities.

Utah Center for Evidence Based Treatment
Psychologist, Ph.D.
Our expert child therapists provide quality, Evidence Based Care for Children and Adolescents. We treat a range of common childhood difficulties (e.g. school refusal, separation anxiety, self-harm, depression, ADHD, encopresis, PTSD, etc).
We work with children and their parents across the lifespan. In our experience, we find that a combination of working both with child and parents leads to the most effective and lasting results. As such, our team will carefully craft a treatment plan that best suits the needs of your family, which may include individual child treatment, parent coaching, or both. In this way, we take a collaborative approach to help your family navigate complex developmental challenges.

I can relate to children and adolescents to help them manage their stress, frustrations, and hardships that are experienced in their youth. I work particularly well with adolescents and establishing a strong therapeutic alliance can help them to feel comforted and safe to discuss difficult topics.

We provide a safe space for children and teens express themselves and learn new skills like emotion management, self-soothing, self-regulation, problem-solving, and social skills. We also work with parents to support them in finding the best ways to support their child. Ultimately our goal is to help children and teens feel better and increase their self-efficacy so they can flourish.
