Anxiety, a persistent state of worry, can consume our thoughts with irrational or unlikely events. However, anxiety is not simply a "mood disorder." It is a complex interplay of biology, psychology, and society. This is where psychotherapy comes into play, creating a compassionate and understanding environment to alleviate worries and stresses. Trust me, leaving anxiety untreated is not an option.
Anxiety takes various forms: generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and specific phobias. Regardless of its appearance, anxiety significantly impacts our daily lives and relationships.
Through therapy, we will collaborate to uncover the underlying causes of your anxiety and develop personalized coping strategies. We will explore relaxation techniques, challenge negative thoughts, and address any past traumas or triggers. And you know what? We will also delve into the importance of setting healthy boundaries. Boundaries are crucial for positive relationships and mental well-being, yet many of us struggle due to past experiences or societal pressures.
Together, we will understand and embrace our personal boundaries while learning how to effectively communicate them. Trust me, this process can work wonders, reducing anxiety and enhancing overall well-being. Let's embark on this journey together!

As a clinician who specializes in working with teenagers, young adults, and college students who struggle with anxiety I have many methods I use to address the anxiety. It is extremely important to understand how anxiety has impacted my client's life. I spend time listening and provide a warm, supportive environment for the client to share his/her anxiety symptoms. Understanding how someone experiences anxiety helps me as a clinician to individualize the approach to helping alleviate the stress from the anxiety.

Marriage and Family Therapist, M.A., LMFT
Anxiety and fear are some of the most common issues that many of us struggle with and can be some of the most unrecognized. Chronic stress and anxiety can go undiagnosed and can manifest in physical ailments. Not only does chronic anxiety reduce the body's immune system causing one to get sick more often, but it leads to an overall impediment to life. The paralysis of fear can prevent us from moving in the direction of our life goals, and the uncertainties that lead to anxiety can rob us of enjoying our life in the moment. I specialize in helping individuals to explore and understand these fears, find solutions and tools, reprocess the underlying emotions, and to start to live a life with less fear and more health, hope, wellness and happiness.

According to research we have upwards of 70,000 thoughts a day. Most of them pass through us without so much as a “second thought”, but all are informing a sense of how we feel about ourselves, about the world we live in, about the abundance or the scarcity in our lives.
Our thoughts create our feelings and vice versa. For so many of us, “feelings” become an overwhelming, incapacitating part of our existence. What if you didn’t fear feelings? What if you had a clearer understanding of what thoughts had informed those feelings? These feelings and thoughts, which create anxiety, depression, worries, concerns or obsessions etc., can and must be dissected and understood. With insight and understanding comes relief. Situational pressures, breakups, job loss or confusion, a sense of purposelessness, become existential crisis.
In my work with individuals we closely examine the myriad of thoughts that pass through you daily. How do they make you feel? How do they inform your behaviors? It can occur in opposite as well. “I got a feeling he didn’t like me”. The feeling set up thought patterns of insecurity. Which comes first? How? Why? With empathy, insight and understanding, I work with clients to intervene in this process so that you are not just a firestorm of thoughts and feelings, but rather a mindful creation of what you want to feel. Making choices of what you want to think. What do you choose to believe about yourself? What is the narrative you have created for your life and is it accurate? Unpacking childhood memories and life experiences, understanding attachment complexities and desensitizing traumatic events that occur within our lives become primary objectives in the work. Processing in a more adaptive, healthy response with these relationships, traumas and experiences follow.
Together, with love, compassion and understanding, I gently help my clients discover how to live their best and fullest life, expressing the most authentic representation of self that one can be.
