Jean Moree

Counselor/Therapist, LPC, NCC, CCTS-I
In my work with trauma survivors, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Written Exposure Therapy (WET). Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidenced-based, efficient therapy for PTSD and other psychiatric conditions. It is derived from Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). The NREPP (National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices), a subsidiary of SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), determined that accelerated resolution therapy is an effective form of treatment for PTSD. Written Exposure Therapy (WET) is recommended as a first-line treatment for PTSD in the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for Managing PTSD and it is listed as an emerging recommended treatment in the International Society for the Study of Traumatic Stress (ISTSS) guideline.

I have a special interest in working with trauma and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have found that a large percentage of clients that present for counseling have had some kind of traumatic past. Trauma is often misunderstood and there is more research being done in this area. I stay up to date on the research of the impacts of trauma, childhood trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and chronic complex trauma in order to better support my clients that are seeking help.
