Anxiety and stress therapy with me is indeed a unique experience. Several assessment tools are used including an accountability chart which guides healthy life balance. Other effective forms of treatment include anxiety management, cognitive therapy and exposure therapy. With anxiety management I teach patients skills that will help them cope.
As your therapist I focus on skill-building and specialize in treatment for anxiety. My goal is to help you learn the tools needed to manage feelings of stress and anxiety, and move toward a healthy state of being.
I can treat symptoms of anxiety, which include feelings of apprehension, worry, and physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating, and tension.
Our emotions serve a purpose. Anxiety is a human reaction and response the fight or flight response that keeps us alive. Anxiety can be debilitating and grow to encompass every aspect of your life. Managing and treating anxiety is possible and available with support and assessment.
Anxiety can impact all aspects of your life. As we explore the root causes and build skills to help mitigate its effects, we can begin to lessen its hold on you.
Empathy and patience are key when helping with anxiety or fears. I will encourage open communication, active listening, and validate your feelings without judgment.
Living with anxiety and fear can be overwhelming and have an impact on your daily life, causing problems at work and at home. My goal is to identify factors that contribute to the problem and help to make a plan to minimize it's effects so that you can be more relaxed and experience safety within yourself.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I can help you calm your emotions through developing new thinking styles and behaviors that will free you up from self-criticism, negative assumptions, and self limiting avoidance behaviors. Through CBT you'll be able to experience more positive emotions and more adaptive responses.
