Sexual Abuse Recovery services provide compassionate and trauma-informed care to individuals who have experienced sexual abuse. Our therapy is centered on creating a safe and supportive environment for survivors to process their experiences, navigate the complexities of healing, and reclaim a sense of empowerment. Recognizing the profound and personal impact of sexual abuse, we approach each person's journey with empathy, discretion, and professionalism. Therapeutic Approaches for Healing * Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address harmful thought patterns and beliefs resulting from abuse, promoting healthier and more adaptive cognition. * Somatic Experiencing to help survivors reconnect with their bodies and manage the physical symptoms of trauma. * Group Therapy where individuals can share their stories and gain support from others with similar experiences in a safe, moderated setting. * Psychoeducation to assist survivors in understanding the effects of sexual abuse and the process of trauma recovery. Objectives of Sexual Abuse Recovery Therapy Our Sexual Abuse Recovery Therapy aims to: * Assist survivors in acknowledging and processing their experiences of abuse. * Enable individuals to develop effective coping strategies for dealing with the emotional and psychological aftermath. * Foster a reconnection with one's body, addressing dissociation and somatic disturbances that often accompany sexual trauma. * Rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and control that may have been disrupted by the abuse. * Empower survivors to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in relationships. * Provide support in developing a positive sense of identity and self-worth beyond the experience of abuse. The Caring Center

Counselor/Therapist, MA, LCPC
Having worked extensively at the Montgomery County Crisis Center in conjunction with the Sexual Assault Service I am very familiar with the trauma of sexual assault and abuse and how to deal with it. Unresolved issues in this area can greatly affect one's self-esteem one's sense of control, and one's sense of safety. I can help you work through that and help you heal the past and any difficulties you may be having in your present relationships because of it.

Sexual Abuse

Psychologist, PhD
I often apply current, best-practice treatments for PTSD and depression to aid my clients in recovery from past sexual abuse experiences, both from child- and adulthood. These techniques help clients heal regardless of whether the abuse occurred briefly or over a prolonged period. I treat both men and women with histories of sexual abuse and assault and try to be especially attuned to the unique forms of stigma that are often perceived by clients.
