I work with folks who feel overwhelmed by their past experiences even if the experiences are, well... in the past. But trauma doesn't seem to respect space and time. Traumatic experiences can linger in us for many years, making us relive those moments, or those relationships over and over. If you become overwhelmed with memories, or resentful of how other people's actions affected your life, I would like to work with you. I walk alongside clients who feel haunted by their past. Together, we allow blocked feelings to run their course so that they don't keep reoccurring over and over. At times we might talk about what happened. However, I also use creative interventions that don't require you to put the unspeakable into words. We'll find strategies to deal with the overwhelm, and we'll learn how to leave the past in the past. However, we won't completely discard the past because what will remain is your personal growth. Eventually you will be able to think about the past, maybe even talk about it, without feeling the overwhelm. You will find strength inside that you didn't know existed... But it does. I'd feel honored to walk this path with you!

When the foundation of trust shaken (if not feeling broken) through experiences of trauma, the approach to restoring one's life must always be one of sensitivity, patience, and compassion. Without this, there will always be a risk that it will never feel safe enough to heal.
