Approach Description: My overall goal as a psychologist is to help you relate to your thoughts and emotions in a skillful way and to create a more meaningful and vital life that is in line with your values. My approach is typically skills-based and time-limited. In other words, my hope is that I will empower you with practical skills so that you will feel confident in coping with your health problems even after therapy has concluded. I primarily utilize mindfulness- and acceptance-based therapies (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also passionate about self-compassion and believe that most of us could benefit from being kinder to ourselves. Furthermore, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a gold standard treatment for chronic insomnia. Additionally, I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) and treatments for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, such as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
