The breakdown of a once loving relationship is listed in the top five life events associated with suicide. Divorce is painful, but sometimes separation is not only necessary, but inevitable. I work with couples going through this difficult transition and with individuals experiencing the pain. My objective is to enable those I work with to move forward to a better life.
Divorce can be a profoundly challenging experience. I provide a supportive environment to help you process your emotions, rebuild your life, and develop strategies to navigate this significant life transition with resilience and clarity.
Divorce is a significant transition in people's lives. It can take years to feel ready to ask for a divorce, and it can be a profound shock if one's partner initiates it. This transition often brings up intense emotions such as loss and grief, anger or rage, fear of the future, shame, a sense of failure, and concerns for one's children's well-being. These feelings can arise even if you were the one who wanted the divorce.
Navigating the process of divorce is particularly challenging, especially when children are involved. How do we manage this transition with such strong emotions while allowing our children to have their own feelings and maintain their own relationships and perceptions of our ex-partners?
Then, there's the new beginning: How do I want to live my new life? Overcoming the fear of loneliness and other challenges is crucial until we feel settled again.
Going through a divorce can be one of life's most challenging chapters. However, it's also an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and a fresh start. Together, we'll navigate the emotional complexities, address concerns, and develop coping strategies to help you emerge from this transition with strength and resilience.
