Many LGBTQ+ folks feel most comfortable pursuing therapy with a clinician who is also LGBTQ+. As a queer femme, agender therapist, I have lived experience in community and I practice from a framework that affirms the centrality identity may play in the lives of queer individuals, and I hold the impacts systems of oppression inherently have on queer lives.

I am a fierce supporter of the LGBTQ community. Have worked for years with many people who happen to be part of the LGBTQ both in the individual and couple therapy realms.
Being gay means following a nonstandard course in life. Redefining existence in new ways. Perceiving the world differently. Moving through difficulty can lead to transcendence.
I have a lived experience and personal affiliation with the LGBT community, which allows me to provide empathetic and informed support for LGBT individuals. My approach is compassionate and affirming, addressing unique challenges such as identity exploration, coming out, and dealing with discrimination. Together, we can work towards greater self-acceptance, resilience, and well-being.
All our therapists work with folks in the LGBTQIS+ communities, with Myroslava Tyzkyj, Jonathan Morgan, Benjamin Rubinoff, Rahwa Gebredingle, and Terri Roberton specializing with these communities. Redbird Therapy operates from an anti-oppressive practice framework, so all our therapists are queer and trans welcoming. Contact our Intake Worker to help determine who will be the best fit for you.
I am trained in Relational Psychotherapy at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy an intensive three-year theoretical and clinical training program in psychodynamic, intersubjective, and relational psychotherapy. I have worked with and supported clients in LGBTQ.

People who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or other gender or sexual minorities often experience challenges that cis-gendered and heterosexual folks do not. These challenges may impact family, work, and social and intimate relationships. These include:
- Coming out: considering, preparing and processing
- Self-love and self-acceptance
- Processing related traumas: ie. bullying, discrimination, oppression, and homophobia
- Navigating complex family dynamics
- Exploring gender and sexual identity
- Exploring gender identity and sexual identity while in a relationship
- Career and workplace challenges
- Dating and marriage
- Body image concerns related to transitioning and gender identity
- Integrating cultural and religious identities
- Exploring polyamory, sex and kink
- Sexual health concerns/HIV/serodiscordant relationships
We also support family members who want to support their loved one and to process and accept their loved one's gender and sexual identity.
At New Moon Psychotherapy we understand the unique difficulties that come with diverse identities and intersections. Our therapists have specialized training and some have lived experience in the LGBTQ2S+ community. This offers a unique perspective and affirming, inclusive, and stigma-free support. We value the diversity of human identities and the fluidity of sexual and gender expression.
