We are a team of Registered Psychotherapists and Social Workers who specialize in supporting individuals through effective and research backed trauma, relationship, and sex therapy.
We began as a trauma focused clinic - our team has a solid understanding of the countless small and large ways that trauma impacts us. We work with traumatic stress and related difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD and complexPTSD), addiction, self-harm, and suicide ideation. We support survivors of sexual violence as well as those who have experienced emotional and physical abuse, criminal victimization, bullying, war, and near death experiences.
We've found that as people heal, relationships and intimacy naturally becomes a secondary focus. For this reason we offer family, couples, and sex therapy. We support individuals of all gender and sexual identities and relationship structures.
We respect diversity and differences in opinions, values and attitudes. This is reflected through individualized treatment plans which consider each individuals lived and generational experiences. We strive to provide culturally-sensitive, non-discriminatory, and affirming care to culturally diverse populations and BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, kink and polyamorous communities.
Our goal is to help you break free from your past and rediscover a fulfilling life filled with joy and connection.

Treatment Approach
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Dance / Movement Therapy Uses movement and body awareness to express emotions and improve mental health. It can increase confidence, reduce stress, and support healing.
- Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Drama Therapy Uses role-play, storytelling, and theater techniques to explore problems and emotions. It helps people practice new ways of relating to others.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Psychodrama A group therapy that uses role-play and dramatization to process emotions. It helps clients gain perspective and release tension.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Social Learning Therapy Based on the idea that people learn behaviors by observing others. It applies modeling and reinforcement to encourage healthy change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Our approach to therapy is genuine and empathic. By genuine we mean real - our therapist selves are not an act or a façade. This creates an authentic and safe space for you to explore and heal in.
By empathic, we mean that we are constantly looking to understand your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. There are valid reasons for ALL of the things that we do but the majority of people judge an action before they fully understand it. Through empathy, we create a truly validating space in which you feel safe gaining insights into your experiences and reactions; this will help you better understand yourself.
We appreciate that there is no one size fits all approach to healing and that each individual has unique strengths which derive from their lived experiences. We want to help you discover these strengths and draw on them through out your healing journey. Likewise, we believe that our experiences set us apart from everyone else and so the most effective treatments will also be individualized.
We always begin with an assessment during which we learn about your current circumstances, challenges, and goals. We will share what we think would be a beneficial approach and together we will create a treatment plan. In your treatment plans we will use a variety of evidence-based approaches (the ones research shows work for the difficulties you are reporting). Our plans aren't set in stone - as your needs change, so will the plan.

Client-therapist fit is important. Study after study shows that the client-therapist relationship is just as important (if not more) than the therapeutic modality used. For this reason we offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation for all prospective clients. This consultation is an opportunity for you to meet with one or more clinicians - ask any questions and get a sense for their personality and presence.
It's unlikely you will feel 100% comfortable after 15-minutes - comfort requires trust and trust takes time - however, this meeting will give you a sample of what to expect.
If after the consultation it doesn't feel like the right fit, no problem! We're happy to connect you with another clinician who might better suit your needs.
