Thanks to global telecommunications neither you or I are restricted to being in the same geographical proximity. And that is why I have clients all over the world via phone, Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp (and others by arrangement). I have been conducting online therapy sessions for over ten years now; it suits clients well: no need to travel; they are in their own space, there are no visual distractions and it's easy to focus.

Live can present us with situations that cause us distress, pain & anxiety. We may feel lost, bewildered and unable to cope. It is how we choose to deal with these experiences that can make the difference between living a fulfilled and an unfulfilled life. Online therapy offers clients the opportunity to avail of counselling from the comfort & familiarity of their own home. There is no travel involved, which is ideal for non-drivers or anyone who cannot travel due to difficult circumstances. At Tranquility Counselling I believe no one should have to face problems alone. I provide you with a safe haven to explore the difficulties you are facing, develop new sets of skills that will help you make the changes you desire, solve the problems that brought you in, and better cope with whatever challenges might arise in the future

Some of the benefits of seeing a therapist online are that this will give you the opportunity to access support in a location and at a time that is convenient to you and you may be able to access therapy more quickly this way. As counsellors are trained to observe your body language, voice tone and other non verbal cues, including eye contact there may be the need for me to clarify certain points with you if we are working remotely ( particularly if this is over the telephone) We would use either zoom or whatsapp for our video calls. I will send you the hyperlink to download onto your device. There will also be a password to allow you access to a secure, encrypted online meeting room. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality while we are working together including ensuring that the hardware for your device, internet access points, email address and passwords are secure. I will call you at the time that we have agreed and encourage you to ensure that the space that you are in is a place where you feel safe, comfortable and your privacy is maintained. Some things for you to ask yourself prior to working with a therapist remotely might be how comfortable are you with using internet technology? Is there a device you can use in private with no interruptions? It is also worth considering whether the situation that you are seeking counselling for may be easier for you to discuss face to face?
