Psychologist, Psy. D., M.A.
Life in recent times has required all of us to make adjustments and transition some parts of our lives to the virtual space. It makes sense that healthcare services accommodate the needs of people in this way to offer the opportunity for support from afar. As a result, a significant part of my practice over the past few years has been in the service of providing tele-therapy for those who reside within the states governed by PSYPACT. For more information about my availability, please feel free to contact me.

You’ve taken a critical first step toward starting to feel better: you are exploring your options for therapy. For this, you should give yourself a pat on the back—starting the process of reaching out for help is never easy. The next step is finding the right therapist for you. I specialize in working with people who are not getting what they want or need out of relationships (including their relationship with themselves). Many of my clients describe being hard on themselves, having difficulty forming relationships, or not feeling fulfilled by their relationships. Whatever it is that is getting in the way for you, I can help! We will work together to explore problematic patterns in your life (especially in relationships), address negative self-talk that is keeping you down, determine how to start making the changes that you have been wanting, and help you live a life with purpose and meaning. If you are ready to start working on making changes and feeling better, let’s talk! To schedule a free 15-minute consultation, you can contact me via phone, send me a message, or head to my website where you can schedule your consultation now. I will get back to you very quickly. Durham, North Carolina therapist: Hope I. Hills, Ph.D., psychologist

Hope I. Hills, Ph.D.

Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist in NC, Authorized PsyPact Practitioner in 40 states
Although I see clients in person if you live close to me in NC, I am "authorized" to see clients through Teletherapy by PsyPact, which lets me work with folks in all PsyPact states. I see individuals and couples (who sometimes aren't in the same place!) on my platform, and there is an "ease" that I don't think people expect. My core theory approach is Interpersonal Psychotherapy (combined with CBT, Gestalt, attention to lifestyle, spiritual life and career). I use testing to give us a "quickstart", namely the MBTI, FIRO/B, and Strong Interest Inventory. I also have a list of "handouts" (You wouldn't guess that I've been a professor in Counseling Psychology, would you?!) and a model called the Interpersonal Flexibility Circle that I've developed to more clearly see concretely how relationships really work. All of these methods support our work and are teletherapy friendly. All of them support both individual and relationship therapy (even your relationship with all ages of your SELF!) I use an approach that helps people to rather quickly recognize how their "stuck challenges" and defenses have been "safety maneuvers" for perhaps their whole lives. How enlightening and empowering!

Does this sound familiar? You want to feel peaceful and content, but instead you are feeling: overwhelmed by stress, totally burned out, or even debilitated by anxiety. It’s been hard for you to manage the emotional toll of constant and often unrealistic demands. You can rarely find a moment to stop and catch your breath. Each day feels like you are being stretched a bit thinner and you wonder how much you have left to give. Life doesn’t have to go on this way. Hi, I’m Dr. Jennifer McManus and I help ambitious women find relief from stress, burnout, anxiety, and deep emotional pain. It is my mission to provide scientifically informed psychotherapy without sacrificing compassion and genuine concern.

I have started offering teletherapy in addition to in-person appointments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but plan to continue for the convenience of therapy clients even after the pandemic ends. Teletherapy has proven to be a viable and effective option for clients who otherwise for various reasons would not be able to access therapy services in person.
