Healing and Empowerment Counseling Center
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Teri Dunbar, LCSW
Are you tired of having your past experience or past traumas interfere with your ability to have the life you want? Or are you a parent of a child that has experienced trauma and don’t want that experience to dictate the course of their life?
I help adolescents and young adults that have experienced trauma and are experiencing feelings of shame, anger, detachment, anxiety, and depression, and having a difficult time in their relationships, work, and day to day life. I help them to overcome and cope with such feelings, and empower them to have the life they want through healing from their past traumas.
I specialize in working with individuals that have experienced stressful or dangerous events such as child abuse, domestic violence, the loss of a parent, parents that have struggled with substance abuse or mental illness, or just multiple bad days strung together.
It can be hard to know where to start and almost impossible to start alone. I would love to help guide you through this process. I am only offering virtual therapy at this time. Please send me an email and I follow-up with a phone call to discuss how I may be able to help.

Many people suffer from anxiety and fears, from a specific phobia to a general sense of unease they carry with them throughout the day. I have a great deal of experience in helping people feel more at ease, from simple tools like exposure for phobias, to longer term strategies, like mindfulness practices, to help folks feel more calm in their day to day life.
